Designed by Mel Smilow in 1960 and reintroduced in 2014, this Classic Rocking Chair is a beautifully proportioned mid-century design crafted in solid oak with sculpted arms and a distinctive rail-back backrest. Originally selected for the VIP waiting room at the American Pavilion during Expo 1967 in Montreal, the chair reflects Smilow’s commitment to simplicity, functionality, and honest materials, making it both sculptural and highly usable. Part of the Rail Back Collection, it remains a timeless example of American modern design and is presented here in excellent condition.
